Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to join French outfit Bordeaux on loan until the end of the season, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

The 30-year-old joined the Gunners from fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle United in 2014, but has failed to make an impression for his new side having managed only 22 appearances for them, scoring a single goal.

Debuchy's recurring problems with injuries have also played a big role in limiting his appearances for the north London-based side, while Hector Bellerin has become the team's first choice right-back.

He will hope returning to his homeland will hand him regular first team football.

Debuchy has also been linked to a move to fellow Premier League sides Aston Villa and Sunderland of late.
