Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane on transfer deadline day, according to Sky Italia.

The Serie A outfit have been in talks with the Premier League leaders over the transfer of the Tunisian centre half and it seems that have reached an agreement with Claudio Ranieri’s men.

La Viola are close to sealing the move for the defender after they agreed an initial loan fee of €500,000 with the Foxes and then a further €7.5m for his permanent move to Italy.

The 28-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with the club soon, before signing a contract with Fiorentina to finalise his move to Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Benalouane joined the Foxes from Atalanta towards the end of the summer window but did little during his limited appearances to convince Ranieri to keep him playing in the first eleven.

His last appearance for the Foxes came in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in the FA Cup on 20th January and he will now look to rekindle his career by playing more football at Fiorentina once he complete his move to Italy.

Benalouane already has experience of playing in the Serie A and has 95 Italian top tier appearances under his belt.
