Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have officially announced the signing of right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Arsenal.

Debuchy had been chased by Aston Villa, Sunderland and Bayer Leverkusen, but has opted to return to his native France with Bordeaux.

Debuchy will remain with Bordeaux on loan until the end of the season and he has been handed the number 24 shirt by the club.

The defender arrives in his homeland in search of regular first team football after losing his spot in the Arsenal team to Hector Bellerin.

Debuchy is desperate to play on a regular basis ahead of Euro 2016 in France in the summer, as he seeks to secure inclusion in Didier Deschamps' France squad.
