Chinese Super League team Jiangsu Suning are in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over the signature of Liverpool target Alex Teixeira, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

Liverpool made a play during the January transfer window to sign the Brazilian forward and even slapped in a £24.5m bid for Teixeira, but their offer was turned down by the Ukrainian giants.

However, it seems the Brazilian could be one more high profile player who could be on his way to China soon as Jiangsu Suning are trying to sign the in-form forward from Shakhtar Donetsk in the next few days.

It has been suggested that the club have been in talks with the Ukrainian outfit over an agreement for Teixeira and the Chinese side are said to be willing to offer €50M for the Brazilian’s transfer.

It is also understood that the club do not feel they will have any problems in agreeing personal terms with the forward, once they reach an agreement over a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Shakhtar Donetsk have been saying that the club are unwilling to part ways with the Brazilian in the middle of the season, but Jiangsu Suning seem convinced that they can change the Ukrainian outfit’s mind with a big offer.

With the transfer window in Europe closed, Liverpool won’t be able to do much if Shakhtar Donetsk agree to sell the player to the Chinese outfit in the next few days.

A number of high profile players such as Ramires, Fredy Guarin and Jackson Martinez joined clubs in the Chinese top tier during the January transfer window and it remains to be seen whether Teixeira becomes the next big coup for the Chinese Super League.
