Celtic manager Ronny Deila has dismissed the importance of him bringing in two psychologists recently and insisted he is the biggest psychologist, motivating the team and setting the vision.

The pressure is mounting on Deila after Celtic went out of the League Cup at the weekend and slipped to a 2-1 defeat to title rivals Aberdeen in the Premiership on Wednesday night.

There have been calls for Deila, who has failed to lead Celtic into the group stage of the Champions League for two successive seasons, to go – but he is fighting on.

Deila was asked about BBC Scotland about having brought two psychologists in to the club of late, but the Norwegian claims they are mainly working with Celtic's younger players.

And Deila says when it comes to the first team, he is the psychologist, motivating and setting the direction of travel, the vision.

"They haven't been so much around the team. They have been a lot with the youngsters and working with the Under-20s", he explained.

"All the players, they have done this before, and the biggest psychologist is me, because the coach is the motivator and the guy who sets up where the road is going.

"We have a big staff, very intelligent, competent people, and everybody is helping the players in different ways. That's been successful before and I know it's going to be again in the future", Deila added.

Celtic sit just three points clear of Aberdeen in the Premiership at present, while they are likely to have Rangers for company in the top flight next season as the Gers top the Championship table and look on course for promotion.
