Colin Kazim-Richards has explained that he enjoyed mixed emotions following Celtic’s 2-1 loss to Aberdeen in a top of the table Scottish Premiership clash last night.

The striker, who joined Celtic from Feyenoord on a two-and-a-half-year deal on deadline day, made his Hoops debut at Pittodrie.

The Turkey international came on as a half-time substitute with his side trailing 2-0, courtesy of strikes from Jonny Hayes and Simon Church.

And Kazim-Richards, who admitted that he was happy to make his Celtic debut, however, refused to put his personal pleasure over the team’s disappointment.

“For me that’s what counts, the result”, he told Celtic TV, when asked about his debut.

“Obviously I’m happy to make my debut.

"But the circumstances are more [important] than my personal happiness.”

Kazim Richards, who scored four goals in 16 games in all competitions for Feyenoord this season, was born and raised in England, but he qualified for Turkish nationality through his mother's heritage.

It is not the 29-year-old’s first spell at a British club as he has previously played for Bury, Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers in England.
