Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has revealed that new arrival Alexandre Pato is nearing full fitness but won't be hurried into action as they don't want to risk an injury.

The 26-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge on a loan deal from Brazilian outfit Corinthians last month but is yet to make his debut for his new club.

The veteran Dutch manager has now revealed that the Chelsea fans will have to wait a bit longer as the player is still in the middle of his pre-season and they have made a training plan for him.

Pato though is yet to achieve full fitness in spite of the rigorous training schedule and therefore won't be available for the next few matches.

"Pato is in his pre-season and we have made a training plan, which he is doing now every day, at least once, but most of the time twice a day", Hiddink said at a pre-match press conference.
