Roberto Firmino is looking forward to being able to link up with compatriot Philippe Coutinho for Liverpool after the midfielder returned to training.

Coutinho had been out with a hamstring injury, but returned to training at Liverpool's Melwood base earlier this week.




Firmino enjoys linking up with his fellow Brazilian and is sure his return to action with give Liverpool a big boost at a crucial time of the season, as the Reds' League Cup final against Manchester City looms large on the horizon.

The Brazilian told his club's site: "The whole team is ready to welcome him back with open arms, not only Philippe but all the injured players.
 


"Coutinho is an excellent footballer and his arrival will help strengthen the team again and he will help the team to win games", Firmino added.

Coutinho has so far made 23 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, but has chipped in with just five goals for the Reds, along with three assists.

He will return to a Liverpool side currently sitting eighth in the Premier League standings with only 34 points from 24 games.

Jurgen Klopp's side are at present closer to the relegation zone than they are to league leaders Leicester City.
