Nottingham Forest defender Matt Mills is hoping that his side’s unbeaten run continues against Leeds United at Elland Road later today.

Dougie Freedman’s side were unbeaten in all competitions since the 2-1 away loss against Brentford on 21st November, before they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by Watford on 30th January.

However, the City Ground outfit remain unbeaten in the league in their last 14 matches and Mills is hopeful that they can make it 15 against Steve Evans’ side.

The 29-year-old former Manchester City defender insists that his side are fully concentrated on the league campaign and for them the unbeaten run is still going.

Mills feels that the FA Cup provided the team with the opportunity to rest a few players after a hectic Christmas period and the side are now prepared to handle the business end of the season.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Mills said: “In terms of our unbeaten run, for everyone in the dressing room it’s still going.

“The cup is a completely different competition. I think you go into it with no fear and see where it takes you.

“The league is where our full concentration is. We’re proud of the record so far, we need to keep that going and it should be a good game tomorrow.

“We’ve had the opportunity to rest a few tired bodies after the Christmas period and now we’re really getting to the run-in – the business end of the season.

“We’re fully focused on picking up as many points as we can from now until the end of the season.”

Forest currently sit in 11th position in the league table, nine points adrift of the playoff spots and a win over the Whites will help them close the gap.
