Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese helped the Stamford Bridge outfit to Premier League and League Cup success in 2014/15, in what was his second stint as the Blues’ manager.

Mourinho was sacked by the reigning Premier League champions on 17th December 2015 after a disastrous start to their title defence, which saw them lose nine out of their opening sixteen games in the league.

According to the BBC, no agreement has been reached between the Red Devils and the 53-year-old as of now, but negotiations have begun and the 53-year-old is keen to succeed Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman’s future as manager of the Old Trafford outfit has been shrouded in uncertainty after an uninspiring start to the season by the Red Devils, and there have been calls from sections of the fans to sack the former Barcelona head coach.
