Rangers defender Rob Kiernan has eased injury fears after his side's 0-0 draw at home against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.

Kiernan was forced off in the 74th minute at Ibrox, being replaced by Nicky Law, as the Gers played out a stalemate with Kilmarnock, keeping their Scottish Cup hopes alive.

The defender insists that he has not picked up a serious injury and was frustrated to be forced off.

Kiernan wrote on Twitter: "Frustrating having to come off but nothing too serious."

The defender also lavished praise on his side's performance and feels they acquitted themselves will against the Premiership outfit.

"Proud of my team today, we're definitely improving. Thanks for the messages", he added.

Rangers huffed and puffed at Ibrox against Lee McCulloch's side, but could not make the breakthrough and will now have to face Kilmarnock in a replay as they seek to progress to the next round.

Kille even had Kallum Higginbotham sent off late on, but playing against ten men made no difference to Rangers, who lacked the final cutting edge to score.

Ibrox had an attendance of 33,581 for the game against Premiership opposition.
