Liverpool attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino has insisted that Jurgen Klopp is the best manager he has played under to date.

The 24-year-old was signed from Hoffenheim by Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers last summer.

Firmino failed to make any impact under Rodgers, but the Brazil international has managed to score six goals and provide seven assists since Klopp took charge of the club.

He even went on to be named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for January, following his four goals in as many Premier League games last month.

And Firmino, who dubbed Klopp “excellent”, is hopeful about bringing success to Anfield by working alongside the German.

“The manager is one of the best I have had so far and up to this moment the best one”, he told LFC TV.

“He is an excellent manager and I hope everything will work out well for us in the end.”

Firmino, who has often been deployed as a false number nine by Klopp, owing to injuries and form issues to the genuine strikers, has thus far made 30 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool.

The Brazilian started his senior career at Figueirense in 2009 before moving to Germany with Hoffenheim two years later.
