Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told Harry Forrester that he does not have to be so keen to impress every time he steps on to the pitch as the coaching team at Ibrox are already aware what he can do.

Warburton brought winger Forrester in from Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee in the winter transfer window, but the Englishman was only given a contract until the end of the season.

Forrester was brought off the bench on the hour mark in Saturday's 0-0 Scottish Cup draw against Kilmarnock at Ibrox and Warburton knows how keen the winger is to impress.

And the manager wants Forrester to be a little calmer, keeping in mind that the coaching staff do not doubt his quality.

"Harry is a constant threat. I know Harry inside out", Warburton told Rangers TV.

"What Harry has got to realise is he doesn't have to impress us – we know what he can do.

"He's so keen to impress the team and the fans, and playing in front of 40-odd thousand it's a big thrill.

"But he hasn't got to impress us. We know how good he can be", the Gers manager added.

Forrester will be hoping to be involved in Rangers' Scottish Cup replay against Premiership side Kilmarnock as the Gers bid to continue their progress in the competition.
