Steve Evans has no concerns over how Sol Bamba might have taken to being dropped to the bench for Leeds United's home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Bamba started in Leeds' previous match, a 2-1 win away at Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup, but did not keep his place in the team as Liam Cooper came into the side for the 1-0 loss to Forest.

The Ivory Coast defender was linked with leaving Leeds in the winter transfer window, but stayed put and despite being the club captain is now reduced to the role of backup centre-back.

For Evans, whether Bamba is frustrated or not is not his concern and the head coach feels Cooper was deserving of his place in the team.

"I didn't ask [how Bamba took me putting Cooper back in]", Evans told a press conference.

"Well that his problem [if he is frustrated] isn it? His performances need to dictate that he should be in the team.

"Liam Cooper had been outstanding in the run up to Bolton and he deserved to go back into the team", he added.

Leeds are next in action next Monday when they take on Middlesbrough, who are flying high sitting second in the Championship standings.
