Steve Evans feels Leeds United are lacking game-changing players, following his side’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

The Yorkshire giants, who missed the services of forward Chris Wood through injury, fell behind to a 60th minute Nelson Oliveira goal at Elland Road.

Although Leeds tried everything to score the equaliser, including bringing starlet Lee Erwin into the mix, the Whites failed to find the back of the net despite enjoying more possession than Forest.

And Evans, whose side have now lost three of their last five Championship outings, thinks Leeds are lacking players capable of changing the outcome of games.

“Star players? If you can show me where they are, we would love to put them in”, he said in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds.

“Chris Wood is out injured and we threw everything at them in the end, even put lads on the pitch we knew were not ready for first team action.

“We had territorial advantage, the possession stats were high, but it’s a piece of quality or a genius run that gives you half a yard to make a chance.”

Leeds, who are currently 16th in the league with 36 points from 30 games, were heavily linked with a move for Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty during the January transfer window.

The Whites may still bring in the Northern Irishman once the emergency loan window opens tomorrow.
