Chelsea interim boss Guus Hiddink has underlined the importance of his side returning to winning ways in the league to have any chance of finishing in the top four, following their 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The Blues, who are unbeaten since Hiddink took charge of the club in December, have drawn six of their eight Premier League fixtures under the Dutchman.

Chelsea currently find themselves 13th in the Premier League with 30 points from 25 games, 17 behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

Although the Stamford Bridge outfit have safely steered clear of relegation fears, a top four finish still looks highly unlikely with just 13 league games remaining in the season.

And Hiddink, who thinks mathematically it is still possible for Chelsea to finish in top four, has urged his side to start winning in the Premier League again.

“I said before when we were one point away from the relegation zone our target must still be fourth but I also said we have to start winning”, he told the club’s official site.

“Of course we are unbeaten but if you want to get into fourth place you must have victories and we’ve had too many draws.

“Mathematically it might be possible but we must start winning again.”

Chelsea will next face 17-th placed Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
