West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has expressed his delight at seeing his injured strikers closing in on full fitness.

Striker Andy Carroll was back in action for the Hammers during this weekend's 1-0 loss to Southampton after having missed the side's last three matches with injury.

In spite of admitting the fact that it will be tough for Carroll to be back to his own self in the next few games, Sullivan expressed his hope of seeing the striker make a real impact against both Liverpool and Norwich in their next two matches.

"It was great to see Andy Carroll back out on the pitch", Sullivan told his club's official website.

"It might take him a few games to get back to his best, but I hope he has a real impact against Liverpool and Norwich this week."

The 67-year-old also took time to provide an update on two of their injury absentees Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini, who he believes will be back in action within the next two weeks.

Sullivan hopes that once the dupoare back in full swing West ham will certainly start scoring more goals.

"It is looking more promising on the injury front and once we get Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini back in action, I believe we will start to score a lot more goals.

"I hope both players will be back in action within the next two weeks."
