Norwegian starlet Sander Berg admits that his trial period with Premier League club West Ham was one of the best experiences of his life.

The 17-year-old midfielder was recently on a week-long trial with the east Londoners and the club could well look to sign him on a permanent deal, after he impressed the coaches at West Ham.

The youngster joined his current club, Valerenga, in February last year and despite his tender years he already has eleven first team apperances under his belt, with a goal and an assist each to his name.

Berg feels he did well during his trial at West Ham and is confident that he showed enough of his qualities to impress the Hammers coaches. He admits that training on the best pitches, with some of the top professionals in England, was the fulfillment of a childhood dream.

The youngster told Norwegian broadcaster TV2: “I felt I came out well from it.

“They were positive about the things I showed. With fine grass pitches, a good coach and good players, it was an absolutely fantastic week.

“I was surprisingly well received, so it was just about unleashing myself. It’ a childhood dream; I have always dreamed about being with and training with the best, so to get there was unreal.”

Berg has already represented Norway at the Under-16 and Under-17 levels and recently broke into the Norwegian Under-19 side, with three appearances under his belt in the Under-19 European Championship qualifiers.
