Hull City forward Abel Hernandez has revealed that he intends to return to his former club Palermo at some point in the future.

The Uruguay international, who joined the Tigers from Palermo for £10m in 2014, was linked with a move to Arsenal during the winter transfer window.

Hernandez struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League last season, with the striker managing just four goals in 26 appearances as the Tigers were eventually relegated.

However, the 25-year-old has been in fine form in the present campaign, scoring 16 times in 27 games in all competitions.

And Hernandez, who admitted that he left the Italian club to experience life in the Premier League, went on to explain that he eventually wishes to return to Palermo, a club for which he has fond memories.

"My main goal is to arrive in the Premier League with Hull City, then play in European competitions with the Tigers or with a stronger team”, he told TodoMercatoWeb.es.

“Then I want to head back to Italy with a big club such as Juventus, Inter or Napoli before finally returning to Palermo, where I felt very good.”

Hernandez, whose present deal with Hull runs until 2018, amassed 122 appearances for Palermo between 2009 and 2014, scoring 36 times.

He also has 25 caps and 10 goals for Uruguay to his name.
