German champions Bayern Munich have joined the chase for Manchester United linked midfield starlet Renato Sanches.

Despite only breaking into the Benfica senior team this season, the 18-year-old midfield has been grabbing headlines with his performances and has been linked with a move to a big European team in recent months.

Manchester United are said to have watched the youngster in action a number of times over the last few months and there are rumours that the club are keen to agree a deal that would see Sanches move to Old Trafford next summer.

However, the Red Devils are not the only European heavyweights to show an interest in the young midfielder as according to Portuguese daily A Bola, Bayern Munich are also keeping a close watch on the player.

With Carlo Ancelotti taking over from Pep Guardiola in the summer, the club are already planning for next season and Sanches is believed to be on the shortlist of targets they want to pursue.

While Manchester United are believed to be the first movers for Sanches, Bayern Munich are confident that they have the power to beat the 20-time English champions to Sanches’ signature in the summer.

Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the 18-year-old midfielder, and Benfica are preparing for a summer auction of one of their most coveted young talents.

Sanches has made just 19 senior appearances for the club, and has a contract until 2021 with the Portuguese giants.
