Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has revealed that he is keen to win the French Cup during his loan stint at Marseille this season.

The 28-year-old Scot joined the Ligue 1 side from Sunderland on loan until the end of the season in the winter transfer window, and will be looking to impress in France to put himself in the shop window in the summer, when his contract with the Black Cats runs out.

Fletcher started the season as a regular starter at the Stadium of Light this season, but gradually lost his place in the first eleven and was relegated to fringe player status towards the end of his stint with the Black Cats.

The Scot made his debut in a ten-minute cameo against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, and will be hoping to play more football during his loan stay at Marseille, but more minutes is not the only thing on his agenda.

Fletcher is eyeing cup success with Marseille and is hoping to find a place in the side that will take on Trelissac in the French Cup round of 16 clash tomorrow.
