Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday is unfazed by his side’s upcoming three fixtures, which will require the Gers to play on plastic pitches.

Mark Warburton’s side travel to Alloa Athletic on Saturday, before taking on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on 16th February and will play Queen of the South on 21st February at Palmerstone Park; all three clubs have artificial pitches.

Plastic pitches are believed to be more prone to causing injuries to players and many players are reluctant to play on artificial surfaces.

A number of leagues choose not to use such pitches, however, they have found growing use in Scottish football in recent years, due to the low cost of installation.

But Halliday is not concerned about the opposition as long as the Gers are able to turn up and put forward their best foot in training.

The 24-year-old is hopeful that his side are able to do their job and register a win despite the games being played on plastic pitches.

Speaking in an interview with Rangers TV, Halliday said: “But it's like we always say.

“It's about us and if we just turn up and do what we've been doing every day in training I think we'll have no doubt in our own ability to get the win.

“In terms of the plastic pitch it doesn't faze us, we'll just go there and hopefully do the job.”

Halliday has been a key member of Warburton’s title chasing side and has managed to make 30 appearances for the Ibrox outfit, chipping in with six goals and five assists.
