Former Arsenal defender Sylvinho feels Arsene Wenger still has the ability to make the Gunners champions again in the next few years.

The north London side have not won the league title since 2004, and before their mini-slump in form in January, many regarded them as the outright favourites to win the Premier League this season.

Arsenal are still in the race for the title, but Sylvinho has already said that they are not the front-runners to win the league, but believes things could still change in the coming years.

The former Gunner feels Wenger can still turn Arsenal into champions again as the club have the necessary structures in place to win the title again and have a smart recruitment team, who could increase the quality of their squad.

When asked whether Wenger can win the title again for Arsenal, Sylvinho said on beIN Sport: “It’s hard to say, but he is a coach who has done so much for the club.

“He has devoted a lot and has given an important part of his life to them. I understand he has a lot of love and great affection for Arsenal.

“He is a responsible person and I am convinced that if he continues at Arsenal then in the coming years they will have a good chance to become champions again because they are strong club, who hire well.

“They have great structure, and will always be fighting for the title domestically.”

Wenger has won three league titles and six FA Cups since taking over as Arsenal manager in 1996.
