Belgium Under-21s boss Enzo Scifo doesn’t feel Chelsea and Manchester United linked midfielder Youri Tielemans is ready to play for a top club in a top league.

The Anderlecht youth academy product has been earning rave reviews in Belgian football over the past couple of years and at 18, he is already an integral member of his club’s first team squad.

The teenage prodigy has been linked with a move away from Anderlecht for some time now, and there was speculation that Manchester United were involved in a battle with Chelsea and Juventus for the player.

Despite links with top clubs, Scifo feels Tielemans is not ready to move to any of the European heavyweights and should look to gather more experience in the Belgian top flight, at least for another two years.

Speaking to Italian outlet Fanta Gazzetta, the Belgium Under-21s boss said: “After training him for the national team, I can tell you he is not ready to play at a higher level of football in England, Spain, Italy or Germany.

“It would do him good if he plays for another two years in the Belgian league.”

Despite his tender years the midfielder has already made 115 senior appearances for Anderlecht and has a contract until 2020 with the club.
