Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has refused to divulge any details about Michael Carrick’s contract extension situation.

The 34-year-old, whose present contract with the Manchester United is set to expire in the summer, is yet to be offered a new deal by the Red Devils.

And Van Gaal insisted that although he is aware of the current state of Carrick’s contract situation, he declined to share it with the media.

"I am always involved because I am the manager”, he told a press conference when asked.

“I do not discuss this with you."
