Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino admits that it is important that his team continue in the same direction as they approach the final few laps of the season.

Spurs are in the midst of a five-game winning run in the league, and the rich vein of form has helped them to climb up to second in the league table on 48 points, just five off league leaders Leicester City.

While Champions League qualification was believed to be their priority at the start of the season, many feel that it shouldn’t be the limit of their ambition at the moment as winning the league title is a distinct possibility for Spurs.

Tottenham have not won the league title since 1961, and have not been close to winning one in recent years. It has been suggested that their mentality and their approach towards the end of the season could define Spurs’ season.

At this crucial juncture of the campaign, Pochettino stressed that it is important that they continue in the same direction and try to improve every day, without changing too many things about their philosophy.

“It is important that we improve every day, but we don’t need to change, and follow the same direction.”
