Rangers manager Mark Warburton has taken the positive of Michael O'Halloran's performance from his side's 1-1 draw away at Alloa Athletic on Saturday.

Warburton chose to start his winter transfer window signing and O'Halloran helped Rangers avoid slipping to an embarrassing defeat by netting in the final ten minutes for the visitors, who were 1-0 down at the time.

Rangers had dominated throughout, but found Alloa goalkeeper Scott Gallacher in fine form, while the Gers were also guilty of lacking a clinical touch.

However, while the draw against the Championship's bottom club was disappointing for Warburton, he was pleased to see a good display from O'Halloran.

"I’m really pleased for Michael and he looked really dangerous, and in particular in the last 10 to 15 minutes he was excellent", Warburton told Rangers TV.

"He got his reward, and as well as him, I thought Billy King came on and did really well on the left with good movement.

"There were some good performances today, but they won’t be remembered as good performances as we didn’t get the end product", the Englishman added.

Next up for Rangers, as they bid to bounce back from their disappointment at Alloa, is a visit to Rugby Park to lock horns with Kilmarnock in a Scottish Cup replay.

The original tie between the two teams ended 0-0 at Ibrox.
