Leeds United assistant manager Paul Raynor has insisted that the Whites will not allow young goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell to leave the club after the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has been acting as Marco Silvestri’s deputy since summer signing Ross Turnbull picked up an injury in a behind closed doors friendly fixture in October and Charlie Horton was released from his contract due to personal reasons.

The starlet, whose present contract with Leeds is set to expire in the summer, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Yorkshire giants.

Although Premier League outfits Aston Villa and Everton have been linked with swooping in for Peacock-Farrell next season, Raynor stated that he is certain about the youngster extending his stay at Elland Road beyond the present campaign, thus implying that Leeds are set to offer the custodian a new deal.

“I’ve no doubts that Bailey will be here next year. That’s a given”, Raynor was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“We certainly won’t allow him to leave the football club. There’s no chance of that.

“He’s a very good young goalkeeper but he is a young goalkeeper.

“He does need to mature but the signs are there that he’s got all the tools to be a good goalkeeper in the future. We’re delighted with him.”

Peacock-Farrell joined Leeds’ academy from Middlesbrough aged 16 years old, three years ago.
