Florian Thauvin was heckled by a group of Marseille fans following another disappointing performance in a 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne.

The creative midfielder is on loan at Marseille from Premier League outfit Newcastle United, having struggled in England.

But life shows no sign of getting better for the 23-year-old back in his native France, where Marseille fans have been heavily critical of his performances.

And his display in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne, something which means Marseille have still not won at the Stade Velodrome since September, did little to make his case as he was withdrawn just past the hour mark.

Since joining Marseille on loan, Thauvin has made five appearances in Ligue 1, being sent off once. He is also without a goal or an assist to his name.

Newcastle paid Marseille around £12m to sign Thauvin last summer, with him putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

However, the midfielder was shipped back to the Stade Velodrome on loan in the winter transfer window until the end of the campaign.
