FC Midtjylland midfielder Pione Sisto believes Manchester United looked more ready and up for a fight last night at Old Trafford.

Manchester United produced a marvelous second half performance to book their place in the last 16 of the Europa League last night with a 5-1 win in front of their home fans and ease some of the pressure on manager Louis van Gaal.

Sisto gave Midtjylland a lead in the game to further put pressure on the home side, who were already trailing 2-1 in the tie, but a Nikolay Bodurov own goal before half-time gave hope to the Old Trafford faithful about a comeback from their team.

After the break Manchester United came out all guns blazing and a brace from debutant Marcus Rashford coupled with goals from Ander Herrera and Memphis Depay, who was brilliant all night, sealed their passage to the last 16 of the Europa League.

Sisto has revealed his disappointment and feels they should have shown more mental strength after taking the lead at Old Trafford, but admits Manchester United looked the hungrier side last night.

The midfielder was quoted as saying by Danish outlet Bold: “It was a good goal, but we were hoping that would make our situation even better mentally.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to hold on.

“Of course we had belief after the goal. We led 1-0, but we also knew that it still required hard work as we could sense that they were ready. They gave it some more gas than at the MCH Arena.

“It was a difficult game as they did their thing, but we also came here to do the things that we wanted.”

Manchester United will hope to revive their top four Premier League hopes when they take on Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
