Borussia Dortmund are expecting a tough Europa League round of 16 clash against Tottenham Hotspur next month.

Tottenham are one of the three English teams left in the competition, and they have been drawn against Dortmund, who are currently second in the German Bundesliga at the moment.




Spurs are currently in the middle of one of the tightest title races in England for a number of years, but Mauricio Pochettino has not hidden his desire to go deep into the Europa League this season.

And BVB are expecting Tottenham to provide a stiff competition in their round of 16 tie next month.
 


Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc admits Tottenham are one of the toughest teams left in the competition, and coach Thomas Tuchel feels the tie has the potential to be very tasty.

The Dortmund sporting director was quoted as saying Der Westen: “This is the most difficult opponent we could have drawn.”

The BVB coach said: “They are a super heavyweight, but also super attractive.”

The first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie will be played at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion on 10th March, before the Germans travel to north London for the return leg at White Hart Lane a week later.
