Young Liverpool playmaker Joao Teixeira has reached an agreement over a contract to join Fiorentina next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Reds snapped up the talented attacking midfielder from Sporting Lisbon in 2012, but other than loan stints at Brentford and Brighton, the Portuguese has struggled to play senior football in England.

He has made just eight senior apperances for the club to date and with his contract expiring in the summer, Teixeira is seemingly on his way out of Anfield to Italy.

It has been suggested that the player has agreed personal terms with Fiorentina and will join the Serie A outfit in the summer, in time for the new season.

The 23-year-old has grown frustrated with the lack of playing time at Liverpool and is said to be on his way to the Artemio Franchi to give a new lease of life to his fledging career.
