The Belgium Football Association have decided to send a doctor to Chelsea to check on Eden Hazard’s hip injury, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

Hazard will be sidelined for at least three weeks with a hip injury and hence will not be part of Belgium’s squad for their upcoming friendly with Portugal.

The winger, who has been struggling with the hip problem for a considerable part of the present campaign, missed the Blues’ 2-0 loss to Everton in an FA Cup quarter-final tie at the weekend.

Hazard’s father last week claimed that Chelsea forced his son to play though the injury, with the Belgium international being a shadow of his former self this season.

The 25-year-old, who helped Chelsea to Premier League and League Cup trophies in the 2014/15 campaign, has managed to score just twice in 38 games in all competitions this term.

The injury blow is the latest setback in Hazard’s forgettable campaign, where Chelsea are set to go trophy-less.

However, the Belgian FA will send a doctor to Cobham for a check-up on Hazard, even though he will not be in the squad to face Portugal on 29th March.

Hazard, whose present contract with Chelsea runs until 2020, has 59 caps and eight goals for Belgium to his name.
