AC Milan are ready to rekindle their interest in signing Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The France international, who joined Newcastle from Toulouse in January 2013, is contracted with the Premier League outfit until 2019.

But Sissoko could quit the Magpies in the summer if they are relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, with AC Milan keeping close tabs on him; the Italian giants have consistently been linked with the midfielder over the last year.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided six assists in 35 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle in the present campaign.

The Tyneside club, who will face Liverpool tomorrow, are currently two points adrift of safety with four league games remaining in the season.
