West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the chase for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi, but Marseille have slapped a €40m asking price on him.

The 22-year-old forward’s future at the Stade Velodrome has been a subject of speculation for months, with a number of Premier League clubs said to be keen to snare him away from Marseille.

West Ham and Tottenham have been keeping a close eye on Batshuayi for some time, and it has been claimed by Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws that the Premier League duo are currently leading the chase for his signature.

Marseille are aware of the interest in the Belgian forward and they are ready to sell him for a price tag of around the €40m mark during the summer transfer window.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic was also supposed to meet Batshuayi during last month’s international break, but the meeting was called off after the terror attacks in Brussels, which claimed lives.
