Rangers manager Mark Warburton thinks England have a genuine shot at winning this summer's European Championship in France.

Warburton took in England's recent friendly victory over Germany and was impressed with what he saw from Roy Hodgson's side, as they prepare to head to France in the summer.

And as such, the former Brentford boss feels his countrymen do have a chance of winning Euro 2016, though he believes a whole host of teams are also contenders for the trophy.

"It's a young squad, it's a hungry squad. I watched the game against Germany and you saw a desire, a commitment and a quality which I thought was first class", Warburton said on Rangers TV when asked if England can win Euro 2016.

"So can they win it? There are a number of good teams, but they've got a chance, that's for sure", he added.

England have been drawn in Group B of the tournament, with Russia, Wales and Slovakia providing the initial opposition for Hodgson's men.

The Three Lions have never managed to win the European Championship, although they have reached the semi-finals on two occasions, 1968 and 1996.
