Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin, who is currently on loan at Marseille, will see his future on Tyneside depend on the club escaping relegation from the Premier League, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Thauvin joined the Magpies from Marseille last summer, but after a disappointing first half of the season on Tyneside, the Frenchman was loaned out to the Ligue 1 outfit for the rest of the campaign in January.

The French winger is expected to return to St. James’ Park this summer, but his future at the club is expected to depend on Newcastle managing to stave off relegation and maintaining their Premier League status.

It has been suggested that Newcastle will put Thauvin up for sale if they are relegated to the Championship, with Inter Milan rumoured to be interested in taking a gamble on the player in the summer.

While the 23-year-old will evaluate offers in the summer, there are also suggestions that Thauvin could choose to stay at Newcastle if the club manage to maintain their Premier League status.

It has also been speculated that the winger is expected to attract offers from clubs in England, France and Italy during the summer transfer window.

He has scored twice in ten Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille since rejoining the club during the January transfer window.
