Mark Warburton believes Rangers turned in an unacceptable performance away at Livingston this evening, as they went down to a 1-0 defeat.

A Craig Halkett header in first half injury time gave Livingston the lead as Rangers turned in a lacklustre performance. Indeed, Livingston had only 17 fit players heading into the match and handed a starting debut to 16-year-old Matthew Knox.

The defeat means that Rangers, who have already won the Scottish Championship title, have now gone three games without a win and Warburton is unhappy with the situation.

He feels that Rangers dropping their tempo after winning the league is understandable, but it is in no way acceptable for the Ibrox outfit.

"As a club it’s not about the players separate from the staff, it’s us together", Warburton told Rangers TV.

"That was way below our standard, one point from nine. Hibs after the Celtic game, you can maybe say it’s understandable, not acceptable but understandable.

"Saturday you can say about the celebrations but still again not good enough.

"But tonight was way below Rangers’ level and you can say the team were tired, they’ve had no days off, but those guys [Livingston] are scrapping in the relegation play-offs", Warburton continued.

"They won tonight and they had the two best chances in the first half, so for all the possession, that’s not acceptable to Rangers Football Club.

"It’s not about them, as in players, it’s one group together and that’s not our standard."

Warburton's men have little of note to play for before they take on Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final on 21st May, but the Rangers boss will be keen to ensure they quickly return to winning ways.
