Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi is one of the players Tottenham Hotspur are looking closely at this summer.

The 22-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks, despite him signing a new contract with the club a few months ago and there is speculation that West Ham are keen to snare the striker away from Ligue 1 this summer.

Other than West Ham, Tottenham’s name has also been used in relation to the forward’s future, and Pochettino has confirmed that the club are indeed looking at Batshuayi.

He revealed that Spurs are looking for a forward in the transfer window, and the Belgian is one of the names on their shortlist of targets.

The Tottenham manager told French radio station RMC: “We are looking for a striker this summer, which is clear.

“Michy is a young player with lots of talent, who is on the shortlist of many clubs.

"We have quite a few people who have given us information about him; he has got good potential, but we’ll see.

“We have other players on our radar; Michy is one of our targets, and we’ll see how things develop.”

Marseille are said to be willing to sell the striker in the summer if any club are willing to offer a fee of around €40m.

Batshuayi joined the Ligue 1 outfit from Standard Liege in 2014, and has notched up 30 goals in 75 appearances for the club.
