Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane feels the Champions League semi-final tie against Manchester City is evenly poised after his side played out a goalless draw in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium last night.

Los Blancos, who headed into the game on the back of a five-game winning streak in all competitions, failed to score an all-important away goal in Manchester.

Real Madrid now need to win the return leg at Santiago Bernabeu next week to reach the Champions League final as any result other than a 0-0 draw will knock the Spanish champions out of the continental competition.

And although Real Madrid have been in great form in home this season, Zidane refused to count his side as favourites in the semi-final tie.

“Before the game I thought it was 50/50, and I still think it is 50/50”, Zidane was quoted as saying by UEFA’s official site.

“We are at home now, and we know what we are capable of at home, but it's still 50/50 and it will be until the death.

“It's the semi-finals of the Champions League and we know it will never be easy.”

Real Madrid, who are just one point adrift of leaders Barcelona in La Liga, have lost just one of their last 15 games in all competitions at the Santiago Bernabeu, while winning the rest.
