Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli says he is "gutted" his season is over and will learn from his experience, following a three-match ban handed to him by the Football Association today.

Alli was involved in an incident with West Brom's Claudio Yacob during Monday night's 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane. He was swiftly charged with violent conduct by the FA as the incident was not seen by the match officials.

The three-match ban means Alli will miss Spurs' final three Premier League games and his season has been brought to an early end.

But the former MK Dons star says he will learn from the experience and return a stronger player.

The midfielder wrote on Twitter: "Gutted that my season is over.

"Shouldn't have reacted like I did. Will learn from this and come back stronger", Alli added.

Alli's ban does mean however that he will be fresh for Euro 2016, with England manager Roy Hodgson expected to include the midfielder in his squad to travel to France for this summer's tournament.
