Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira and super agent Jorge Mendes have been in Manchester in recent days to finalise a deal with Manchester United for midfielder Renato Sanches, according to Portuguese daily O Jogo.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been on Manchester United’s radar for months, with club scouts regularly attending Benfica matches to assess the youngster, and it seems he could be on his way to Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Benfica for his signature, for a transfer a fee of around €60m, and it has been claimed that the deal is edging closer to completion.

It has been suggested that Benfica president Vieira and Sanches’ agent Mendes were in Manchester in the last few days to finalise the terms of an agreement that will see the midfielder move to Old Trafford this summer.

The clubs are believed to be currently negotiating the terms of an agreement and mode of payments, but both Manchester United and Benfica are confident of getting the deal over the line soon.
