Former Liverpool striker Fabio Borini believes Jurgen Klopp could be the kind of manager Mario Balotelli needs to rekindle his rapidly declining career.

Liverpool signed the mercurial Italian forward in 2014, but Balotelli failed to come to terms with life on Merseyside, both on and off the pitch, and he was bundled out to AC Milan last summer on a season-long loan deal.

However, the Italian has even failed to impress after returning to his homeland, and while AC Milan want the forward to prove himself again, there are suggestions that the club currently have no plans to make his deal permanent in the summer.

While Balotelli has said that he is no mood to return to Liverpool at the end of the season, his former team-mate Borini feels otherwise, and feels Klopp might be the kind of manager who could bring the best out of his compatriot.

While speaking about Balotelli, Borini told Sky Italia: “I have always been amazed by his ability; he did what he wanted.

“I do not know what he will do, but I think Klopp could be the right coach for him.

"He is a physical trainer and can help Balotelli.”

Though he struggled with a groin injury in the middle of the campaign, Balotelli has scored just one league goal in 18 Serie A appearances for the club this season and is no longer a certain starter.
