Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has told his players they must postpone Leicester City's Premier League title party.

Claudio Ranieri takes his Leicester side to Old Trafford on Sunday knowing that a win at the ground over Van Gaal's men would hand them the Premier League crown.

Van Gaal is a big fan of the job Ranieri has done at the King Power Stadium and believes the Foxes will win the Premier League title.

However, he believes Manchester United must make sure it is not over at the weekend, with Leicester prevented from winning at Old Trafford.

The Dutch tactician told a press conference: "I think we have to beat Leicester because we are still in the race for the first positions, so we have to beat them.

"We cannot allow that they are the champions this weekend at Old Trafford.

"I think they shall be the champion a week later, so we don’t spoil the party, just postpone it a little bit", he added.

The Manchester United boss was also keen to pay tribute to Ranieri, however he noted that he always found it tough to go up against the Italian's teams; the pair locked horns earlier in their respective careers when Van Gaal was in charge at Barcelona and Ranieri was at Valencia.

"Yeah, it was never easy to beat his teams", Van Gaal said.

"Valencia and Barcelona is also more or less a derby so it is a difficult match. He has always organised his teams very good."
