Standard Liege have terminated Victor Valdes' loan at the club, sending the Spaniard back to parent side Manchester United.

Valdes had been due to see out the season on loan at the Belgian giants, however Standard Liege insist they wish to give younger players a chance in the closing stages of the campaign.

And with Valdes being out injured, the Belgian side believes it makes sense to terminate his deal and send him back to Manchester United.

Valdes has been frozen out of the picture at Old Trafford, slipping out of the first team scene following a falling out with Louis van Gaal last season.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper is however out of contract with Manchester United in the summer and is expected move to pastures new.
