Nicola Salerno concedes that he does not yet know whether he will still be Watford's sporting director next season, with him placing himself at the disposal of the club's owners.

There have been suggestions that Salerno could be back in Italy in the summer, but the sporting director insists he has made no decision over his future yet.

Salerno, who joined Watford after a spell as Leeds United's sporting director, was asked about his future by TMW Radio.

And the deal-maker replied: "I have not yet assessed anything and I have been told nothing.

"I have a contract at Watford, but I am at the disposal of the owners", Salerno continued.

"We'll see what is proposed.

"I have worked extensively in Italy, but I repeat, I have not decided anything yet. I will look to see how the season ends and then I will decide what I will do."

Watford have enjoyed success this season, staying well clear of any relegation worries and the Hornets currently sit in 12th spot in the Premier League table with 41 points from 34 games.

The club are owned by the Italian Pozzo family, who also own Udinese in Italy and Granada in Spain.

Salerno has long been linked with heading to Palermo if he does return to Italy, as he enjoys a good relationship with the club's owner Maurizio Zamparini.
