Jesse Lingard admits that he is happy for the former Manchester United academy graduates in the Leicester City squad who are on the verge of winning the league title this season.

Leicester City need just one more win from their last three league games to secure one of the unlikeliest Premier League titles in history, and they have the opportunity to win it at Old Trafford when they take on Manchester United tomorrow.

The Foxes have former Manchester United academy graduates Danny Drinkwater and Danny Simpson, who didn’t quite make it at Old Trafford, but could be celebrating the title tomorrow at the Theatre Of Dreams, in their squad.

And Lingard admits that he is happy for them as they have Manchester United engrained in them, and have toiled hard over the years to reach the position that they are in at the moment.

When asked whether he is in touch with the ex-Red Devils in the Leicester squad, the winger told MUTV: "Yeah, I message Danny Drinkwater now and then to see how he’s doing and vice versa.

“I’m just glad for those lads that they’ve got a massive chance to win the Premier League.

"They’ve been through our academy and our youth system; they’ve got Manchester United engrained in them.

“They’re good lads, they work hard and listen to the coaches, which are two of the main things you need to do."

Lingard also played for Leicester during a loan spell in 2012, when the club were in the Championship.
