Former Liverpool and Sunderland defender Phil Babb believes that Norwich City are doomed in their battle to remain in the Premier League this season.

The Canaries put in a spirited display at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal on Saturday, but still slipped to a 1-0 defeat which leaves them second bottom in the table and in trouble.

Norwich are two points from safety and do have a game in hand on 17th placed Newcastle United. However, Babb feels they pose such little threat going forward that they are destined to be relegated.

He said on LFC TV today: "Norwich just can't seem to get any attacking impetus into their play and I'm sorry to say they look doomed.

"Once you are in that sort of decline it's very hard to get out of", the former defender added.
