Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney admits that his side could find it hard to break into the top four after they shared the spoils with Leicester at Old Trafford earlier today.

Anthony Martial gave an early lead to the home side and after Kasper Schmeichel denied Jesse Lingard from doubling the lead with a wonderful save, Wes Morgan equalised for Leicester at the other end with a powerful header from a set-piece.

While the draw allowed Manchester United to deny the Foxes winning the title at Old Trafford, it also severely dented their hopes of breaking into the top four and Rooney admits that they are now hopping to see either Arsenal or Manchester City slip up.

The striker believes they were the better side and believes they created the chances that could have won them the three points at Old Trafford.

Rooney told BBC Sport: "We were the better team and deserved to win in my opinion.

“[Top four] is going to be difficult now, we're relying on other teams and we're going to have to take maximum points from our remaining games.

"Leicester have made it tough for teams all season but I felt we had the better chances.

"We're disappointed we didn't win the game, it's a blow, but we have to keep going."

Manchester United are still fifth in the league table and will travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City next Saturday.
