Mauricio Pochettino wants his Tottenham Hotspur side to now focus on holding off Arsenal to finish in second place in the Premier League this season after a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea handed Leicester City the title.

Spurs took a 2-0 lead by half time against their London rivals after Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son scored superb goals.

But Tottenham could not hold on to their lead and Gary Cahill reduced it just before the hour mark, while Eden Hazard then made it 2-2 by striking in the 83rd minute.

It was a fiesty game at Stamford Bridge with yellow cards flashed and players needing to be split up as it ended 2-2, giving Leicester City the title.

Pochettino is disappointed Spurs have fallen short, but he now wants his men to focus on making sure they do not slip down from second spot with Arsenal nipping at their heels.

"First of all I congratulate Leicester and Claudio Ranieri and his players and the supporters. I am disappointed because we fought to be in the race for the title", he said on Sky Sports.

"At 2-0 up in the first half, in the second half we have to counter and score the third but this happens. When we conceded the first goal anything can happen. Very disappointed but at the same time very proud of my players.

"Now we fight for the second place. We are ahead of Arsenal and we want to stay in second place."

Pochettino dismissed worries about the competitive nature of the game, which saw a number of heavy challenges, insisting that such things are to be expected in a derby.

"Well, it was a derby and we fight for the title and Chelsea fight to win."
